Nectar sandwich! The roast beef sandwich found at the Mallard Lounge at Chateau Whistler. Had it twice during my short visit and that wasn't enough! Good news- the mallard is open late and serves food till last call.

Travel Whistler 08 Map Location

The location of our second house from Whistler 08. Booked through whistler dream who we never met. The house was ski in and ski out. Contemporary design but small for a 4 bedroom.

Arrival. An admittedly slow and sleepy start to an awesome Ski trip. Taste buds about to be tantalized by a nectar (roast beef) sandwich at the mallard lounge.

Andrew Rivkin and Paul Pint looking quite happy after consuming a few beers at Monks. Skied Spanky's with Paul and have to admit he is not as bad as I thought he would be. He entertained us on the ski out with a few 180's. Not the 720's which he promised us when he thought we wouldn't be able to ski together but still very cool none the less. Footnote: what is he thinking with the jacket?

Skiing Whistler 08

Skied on the Volkl Mantra 177 provided to me by my good buddy little Scott Young. This is truly an extraordinary ski. Light and soft with lots of bounce and lots of flotation so it is completely at home off piste where it makes skiing power, steeps and variable stuff a total pleasure. Also, amazingly this ski performs like a superstar on the groomers as well. A total surprise, and confirmed by other happy shreders as well. It may be time to give up my slalom skies forever. Definitely my first choice when you can only have one pair in the quiver. Thanks little scotty young!
